I've personally seen Say Anything, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Pretty in Pink. I can attest to the fact that those movies definitely fit into the emo subculture of today. I would go further, however, and add Requiem for a Dream, Donnie Darko, and maybe a few other movies to the list. Both of the above are dark and brooding, but also moving and emotional. Requiem for a Dream covers some pretty dark material, though, so it might not be the best movie for younger kids. This is a pretty good list, if a bit short.
